Besides helping to keep you cozy from winter temperatures, the Assiniboine River warming huts will have another purpose on Louis Riel Day weekend.
The innovative huts will be transformed to act as stages as a diverse lineup of local performers belt out tunes from inside.
Presented by Manitoba Music and The Forks, the entertainment will run from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 17.
Acts include Red Moon Road, fiddler Melissa St. Goddard, singer/songwriter JD Edwards, jazz trio The Lucas Sader Project, and up-and-comer Haley Carr.
Local DJs Hunnicutt and Co-op will provide the beats during an on-ice dance party at The Forks’ Big City warming hut.
