Officials with the Assiniboine Park Zoo are ready to unveil their newest resident to the public on Thursday.
Hudson the polar bear will make his public debut on Valentine’s Day at the International Polar Bear Conservation Centre (IPBCC).
The 15-month-old polar bear came from the Toronto Zoo in late January and has been getting used to his new surroundings.
“He’s very relaxed in his new home and he certainly loves the snow and winter weather,” said Tim Sinclair-Smith, director of zoological operations. “Hudson is a wonderful addition to our zoo family and we can’t wait for the community to meet him.”
The public can see Hudson at 11:30 a.m. on the 14th. He will later be moved to the upcoming Journey to Churchill exhibit opening in 2014.
