A 58-year-old woman was killed and three other people were injured following a two-vehicle crash north of Thompson on Wednesday.
The collision between two pickup trucks happened just after 4 p.m. on Highway 280, about 80 north of the Manitoba town, RCMP say. Four people were sent to hospital where one later succumbed to her injuries.
Police say a 2004 Dodge pickup truck was travelling southbound when it lost control and veered into oncoming traffic, striking a northbound 2012 Ford pickup truck.
The driver of the Dodge, a 33-year-old woman from Gillam, was transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.
The driver of the Ford, a 62-year-old man from Split Lake, as well as a five-year-old boy and a female passenger, were transported to hospital for treatment of undetermined injuries. The woman was later pronounced deceased.
Road conditions were reported to be slippery at the time of the collision, according to police.
