RCMP have ramped up enforcement efforts on snowmobilers in the Flin Flon area.
Police conducted two static checks and one roving snowmobile patrol over the last three weeks in high-risk areas.
A total of 58 off-road vehicles were stopped, resulting in one charge of impaired driving and five liquor-related suspensions. Police also charged six drivers with operating an unregistered snowmobile, laid one charge of operating a vehicle without a valid licence, and one open liquor charge.
“One victim is one too many. We are encouraging people to make the responsible choice,” said Sgt. Eugene Yewchuk of North District Traffic Services.
