Polar Plunge Fundraiser at Stadium on Saturday

Special Olympics ManitobaCold enough out there for you? If not, prepare to take the plunge.

The first annual Manitoba Polar Plunge is taking place Saturday at Winnipeg’s Investors Group Field. Close to 100 participants will jump into a freezing pool of water to help raise funds for Special Olympics Manitoba.

The fundraiser is put on by the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) all across North America to bring awareness to the Special Olympics’ “Freezin For a Reason.”

The brave souls taking part will starting jumping in the icy water beginning at 1 p.m. Hot tubs will be on site to help them warm up immediately after.

Admission to watch the event is free and organizers are encouraging the public to come out and bring some noise.
