Winter programming may have been cut this year at Canada’s national parks, but that won’t stop the seventh annual Riding Mountain Loppet from going ahead.
On Saturday, March 2, skiers will compete in a cross-country ski race ranging from the 1 km chipmunk challenge to the 15 km cougar circuit.
Loppet is Norwegian term for a long-distance cross-country ski race for anyone who loves the joy of gliding across the snow, whether for fun or competition.
The following day on March 3, Riding Mountain National Park will host Family Fun Day to celebrate the end of winter. Activities include scavenger hunts, snow sculpting and snow painting.
