Harrow United Church received federal funding on Wednesday to make repairs to its roof.
MP Joyce Bateman announced the Winnipeg church on Mulvey Avenue will see $19,400 to restore the roof after significant water damage. The repairs will enable the facility to be energy efficient and continue to provide a gathering place for local community groups.
“Harrow United Church has served the Crescentwood neighbourhood for almost a century,” said Rae Leaden, chair of the church’s council. “As both a house of worship and a facility for a variety of secular activities, our church has benefitted a lot of residents.”
