Winnipeg Goldeyes LogoThe Winnipeg Goldeyes have signed right-handed pitcher Justin Garcia for the 2013 season.

The 26-year-old was acquired from the Amarillo Sox earlier this offseason. In 22 games, including 21 starts with Amarillo in 2012, the Las Vegas native went 9-3 and 3.99 ERA during 135.1 innings of work.

“In my opinion, he’s one of the top of starters in this league,” Goldeyes manager Rick Forney said. “Other than Ace Walker, few guys over the last couple of years have thrown as many innings as Justin Garcia.”

Garcia was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 25th round of the 2007 MLB amateur draft, where he played four seasons in their system.
