Special Olympians to Compete in Winter Games

Special Olympics ManitobaSt. Johns Ravenscourt will be transformed into an Olympic-inspired venue on Sunday for the 2013 Winnipeg Winter Games.

Special Olympics Manitoba has 183 athletes competing in five different categories throughout the day, including snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, floor hockey, curling and skating.

Twenty-three clubs have registered, which will see competitors also coming from Ontario to play.

Competition will begin at 10:30 a.m. with an awards ceremony to close out the day at 4 p.m.

Spectators are welcome.
