An ice fishing competition in Selkirk today will benefit the St. Amant Foundation.

Fishers will take to the Red River between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the first annual Red River Dash For Cash Winter Fish Off. The derby has two categories: heaviest walleye/sauger and heaviest northern pike.

The first place prize is $2,500, with $1,500 and $500 going to the second and third place winners, respectively. The smallest catch of the day will also net a $500 prize.

Registration is $50 for the first ice hole and $25 for each additional hole.

Competitors will meet at Selkirk Park. For more information, visit StAmant.mb.ca.
