Local School Wins Cash in Cell Phone Recycling Challenge

Recycle Old Cell PhonesAndrew Mynarski V. C. Junior High School in Winnipeg has received a $500 donation from the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA) to support their green initiatives.

The local school was one of 10 across the country that won as part of the Recycle My Cell Student Challenge.

The challenge was held in partnership with Waste Reduction Week in Canada, and saw Canadian students from kindergarten to post-secondary collecting as many old wireless devices as possible, including cell phones, smartphones, wireless PDAs, pagers, accessories and cell phone batteries.
