Beginning this morning at 7 a.m., the City of Winnipeg will begin the task of removing snow from residential streets.

As announced earlier this week, a residential parking ban is in effect today until Saturday evening to help crews clear streets. The $4 million cleanup will start with snow zones C, F, H, K, N, S, U and continue with B, J, L, M, O, Q, T, V.

Plows will be out again Friday in zones A, G, I, P, R and zones D and E overnight on Friday through Saturday at 7 p.m., respectively.

Vehicles parked in violation of the residential parking ban will receive a $150 ticket ($75 if paid early), and may be towed to a nearby street.
