Shaw Recovering E-mail After System Glitch

March 9, 2013 1:46 PM | News

Shaw LogoShaw Cablesystems is working to recover lost e-mail messages that were undelivered to users earlier this week.

“On March 7, an interruption in Shaw e-mail service inadvertently caused the delay and deletion of incoming e-mail to a number of shaw.ca addresses,” the company said in a statement on Saturday. “We understand that our customers rely on our services to receive their e-mails and sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.”

Shaw says it’s collecting log information from its servers to recover a portion of e-mails, including the sender, subject and time of receipt. E-mail contents cannot be recovered, unfortunately.

“We are working as fast as we can to get you this information. Please note that the details retrieved may also include references related to spam e-mail sent to your inbox.”

Users can receive updated information by visiting Shaw’s community forums.
