Winnipeg’s James Richardson International Airport has been recognized with two awards by Airports Council International.

ACI recently handed out its 2012 Airport Service Quality Awards, giving recognition to Winnipeg’s airport with the fifth place Best Airport by Size Award and first place ranking in the Best Improvement: North America category.

“Exceeding customers’ expectations is a priority and the service quality awards confirm the position of our community’s airport in the eyes of our passengers and community members,” said Barry Rempel, president and CEO of Winnipeg Airports Authority. “We are proud that Richardson International is among the world’s best and tribute this recognition to the dedication of our employees, tenants and partners in aviation providing services out of Winnipeg.”

More than 275 airports compete in ACI’s program, designed to improve the passenger experience at airports worldwide.
