An RCMP officer in Dauphin was assaulted on Saturday after arresting an intoxicated man.
Police say they were called to a local bar at around 1:15 a.m. and took an intoxicated patron into custody. The man was belligerent and uncooperative when a brief struggle ensued when he grabbed one of the officers. Neither the suspect or officer were injured.
A 40-year-old Skownan First Nation man was released on a promise to appear in Dauphin court on April 30.
