The South Transcona Community Centre received federal funding over the weekend for upgrades.
Elmwood—Transcona Lawrence Toet announced $60,150 for the ice rink to be leveled and re-asphalted, as well as repairs to the centre’s adjacent rink.
“We are pleased to receive the support of the Government of Canada so that we can upgrade our rink,” said Linda Oakley, president of the South Transcona Community Centre. “Our Community Centre, especially the rink, is a busy place, with hockey, ringette and skating in the winter, ball hockey in the spring, and a number of community events all year round.”
