Manitoba students in K-12 have raised 26,173 lbs in food for Winnipeg Harvest.
The 14th annual Operation Donation saw schools across the province collect food to help families in need who use the food bank’s services.
Manitoba Public Insurance collected 13,103 lbs, bringing the total to 39,276 lbs, while Peak of the Market and Canada Safeway matched pound for pound.
The week-long food drive took place from February 25 to March 1 between 69 schools.
Nearly half of Winnipeg Harvest’s clients are children.
