The city is focusing its snow-clearing efforts on sidewalks and back lanes rather than residential streets this time around.

Winnipeg received upwards of 15 centimetres of snow on Monday, making streets a mess and some even impassable. The city says it expects plowing on bus routes and collector streets to be finished later today, while plowing on main routes has already been completed.

Due to the smooth compacted snow on residential streets, plowing them isn’t planned, however crews will continue to monitor the conditions with warmer temperatures forecasted in the coming days.
