Cabela’s Canada will greet shoppers to its relocated Winnipeg store on Thursday, May 9.
Located just west of IKEA on Sterling Lyon Parkway, the outdoor enthusiast’s retailer will host an official ribbon-cutting at 10:45 a.m. with special guests.
The larger, 70,000-square-foot store replaces Cabela’s existing Polo Park location which opened in 2008.
“This store will allow us to more efficiently serve our thousands of loyal customers across the region and further solidifies our long-term commitment to Winnipeg,” said Tommy Millner, Cabela’s CEO. “We hope outdoorsmen and women in Winnipeg and the surrounding area are as excited as we are to open the doors.”
The opening will be held in conjunction with a weekend-long celebration featuring outdoor personalities, family events and giveaways.
Cabela’s operates 42 stores across North America, including three in Canada — Winnipeg, Edmonton and Saskatoon. A Regina location will open this fall.
