RCMP are investigating after a 16-year-old girl on Norway House Cree Nation was abducted and sexually assaulted on Wednesday night.
Police say the girl was walking alone in the community when an unknown male abducted and sexually assaulted her in a remote location. The suspect was driving a black, four-door model older car.
The girl was taken to hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police are reminding residents in the community to exercise caution when walking alone.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Norway House RCMP at (204) 359-6483, their local police agency or Crime Stoppers.
