The River Heights Library on Corydon Avenue will see federal and civic funding to modernize its facility.
MP Joyce Bateman announced on Friday that Ottawa will spend $23,385, matched equally by the City of Winnipeg, for renovations to the circulation area, lighting upgrades, painting and the installation of new flooring.
“It’s important to make sure our libraries provide welcoming and inviting environments for our staff and patrons,” said Councillor Scott Fielding, chair of the standing policy committee on protection and community services. “By partnering with the federal government, we’ve been able to modernize this library so that it can meet the day-to-day needs of the community.”
