Pischke to Represent Canada in Russia

University of Manitoba Bison women’s volleyball player Taylor Pischke will represent Canada at the upcoming 2013 Summer Universiade Games.

Held in Russia July 6-17, Pischke and partner Melissa Humana-Paredes of York University won the women’s beach volleyball trials in Toronto last weekend.

Pischke, 19, and Humana-Paredes will also represent Canada at the 2013 FIVB U23 World Beach Volleyball Championships in Myslowice, Poland from June 5-9.

Also at the women’s beach volleyball trials, 2012-13 Bison Sports Female Athlete of the Year and second year Bison outside hitter Rachel Cockrell and partner Charlotte Sider (Toronto) defeated Claudia Seguin (Ottawa) and Brandie Wilkerson (Churchill, ON) 21-18 and 21-18 to finish in third place.
