University of Manitoba BisonsSouthwood Golf & Country Club in south Winnipeg will host the Canadian University/College Championship in 2014.

The national golf event will attract players from across the country and the University of Manitoba golf team couldn’t be happier.

“The Bison Golf Team is thrilled to hear that Southwood G&CC will be the host of the 2014 Canadian University/College Championship,” head coach Garth Goodbrandson said on Tuesday. “Southwood have been tremendous supporters of our program. The event will have many of the top amateur players in Canada who I know will be very impressed with the exceptional facilities that Southwood has to offer.”

The U of M won five men’s team titles in the fall of 2012 and will host the national event.

This year’s Canadian University/College Championship will be at the Val de Lacs Golf Club in Ste-Sophie, Quebec.
