Brandon’s Royal Manitoba Winter Fair received $100,000 from the provincial government on Thursday.
“This highly successful annual event enhances Manitoba’s reputation as a centre of agriculture-based excellence, bringing recognition and economic benefits to Brandon and the province,” Premier Greg Selinger said.
The five-year funding commitment ensures the annual fair continues to act as a world-class tourist attraction for the region, including the the Manitoba Summer Fair and Manitoba Livestock Expo, which are all run by the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba.
“The Royal Manitoba Winter Fair is one of our most popular annual attractions because it’s an enjoyable and educational agricultural experience for the entire family.”
The fair runs until Saturday, March 30 and drew over 114,000 visitors last year.
