Registration in the second annual WFPS Half Marathon is now open for the fundraiser on Saturday, October 19.
The 5k and 10k half marathon drew 1,600 runners last year and raised $25,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
“Our first annual event grew at such a fast pace it was overwhelming yet remarkable,” said race director Jonathan Torchia. “Heart disease and stroke is a leading cause of death for Canadians. With this annual event we hope to raise awareness and funds to help save lives.”
Marathoners will be able to raise pledge donations for Heart and Stroke this year, giving themselves the opportunity to run in the event for free. Runners who reach the minimum pledge amount in their marathon category will have their registration fee refunded. The top three fundraisers will also win a number of prizes.
