The University of Manitoba women’s curling team will celebrate their recent gold medal win this afternoon on campus.

The team was victorious in late March at the Canadian Interuniversity Sport national curling championships in Kamloops, B.C.

The U of M team scored two points to tie with the Alberta Pandas in the ninth end, going undefeated at the tournament. Then in the tenth end, the Bisons stole two points to propel them to victory with a score of 9-7.

The University of Manitoba’s Recreation Services will hold a celebration ceremony outside the U of M Bookstore in University Centre at 12:15 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

While the team rarely plays together as a whole, members come from the Fort Rouge, Assiniboine Memorial, and Wildwood curling clubs.
