Police Raid $500K Marijuana Grow-Op in St. James

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police busted a marijuana grow-op in the 1100 block of Empress Street on Thursday.

Police seized 443 marijuana plants, 31 grams of dry marijuana and grow-op equipment totalling just over $500,000.

A 60-year-old Winnipeg man was arrested at the scene and faces several drug-related charges, including production of a controlled substance, possessing a substance for the purpose of trafficking and mischief over $5,000.

He was released on a promise to appear.
