Manitoba Public Insurance will soon offer specialty licence plates for motorcycles. (BLUEBOMBERS.COM)
Manitoba Public Insurance and the province are making specialty licence plates available for motorcyclists later this month.
Fans of the Winnipeg Jets, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Goldeyes will be able to purchase a specialty plate for their motorcycle for $70. The plates will go on sale Friday, April 19 at more than 300 Autopac locations across Manitoba. Firefighter motorcycle plates will be available later this summer.
With each plate, $30 will go toward the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation, Winnipeg Blue Bomber Football Club, Winnipeg Goldeyes’ Field of Dreams Foundation, Manitoba Fallen Firefighters Memorial and the Manitoba Firefighters Burn Fund.
“We anticipate the very positive response to the motorcycle specialty plate,” said Justice Minister Andrew Swan. “We recognize that motorcycle owners also wish to display their favourite licence plate. That opportunity is now available.”
The province also announced an additional 5,000 Jets plates will soon be made available.
