RCMP Raid Turns Up Weapons Cache on Long Plain

RCMP Crest LogoTwo people have been arrested after RCMP raided a home on Long Plain First Nation over the weekend.

Police executed a search warrant on a residence Saturday morning and seized a quantity of ammunition, edged weapons, bear spray and pellet guns.

Timothy Sterling Peters, 33, of Long Plain First Nation was arrested and has been charged with 14 firearms and weapons related offences, including possession of a firearm while prohibited, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of ammunition contrary to a court order. He remains in custody.

A 28-year-old woman was also arrested and charged with obstruction and possession of ammunition without a licence. She was released on a promise to appear.
