A semi-trailer truck hauling hogs rolled west of Portage la Prairie on Tuesday afternoon.
RCMP say the accident happened on Highway 16 at the junction of Highway 1 when the truck rolled on its side.
The 20-year-old male driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He has been charged with imprudent driving.
Six of the hogs had to be put down, while the remaining livestock was picked up by their owners.
Police directed traffic around the scene for several hours.
There is no word on any injuries to the livestock.
