A two-vehicle crash just south of Steinbach Monday morning has claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman.
RCMP say the crash happened on Highway 12 at about 10 a.m. when a northbound 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo collided with a southbound semi-trailer truck.
The Monte Carlo reportedly lost control and swerved into oncoming traffic, according to police. Road conditions were slippery with heavy snow and slush at the time.
The RM of La Broquerie woman driving the Monte Carlo was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her name isn’t being released.
The 47-year-old Winnipeg man driving the semi wasn’t injured.
Police are continuing to investigate.
