A gathering of the city’s so-called “chocoholics” is this weekend and tickets are going fast.
The first annual Chocoholics’ Buffet at The Gates on Roblin on Saturday, April 20 will fundraise for the United Way of Winnipeg.
The 125-square-foot buffet will include the best savoury treats from the best chocolate makers in the city. Organizers hope to bring in more than $10,000 for the charity while celebrating delectable chocolate desserts and their makers. Local vendors have stepped up to donate their most luxurious chocolate creations including cookies, cakes, mousse, cheesecakes, tortes, individual chocolates, and more.
“The response and feedback have been overwhelmingly positive,” said organizer Anna Echols. “The chocoholics of Winnipeg are in for a treat indeed.”
Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased online. Tables of 8 or 10 for groups are also available.
