Prostate cancer research will get a boost in funding after a local event pulled in more than $36,000.
The eighth annual Father Daughter Ball was held Wednesday by 102.3 Clear FM. The event attracted more than 500 dads and their daughters for a night of dinner and dancing at the Victoria Inn Hotel.
“It was a fantastic night with dads and daughters creating memories that will last a lifetime,” said Craig Pfeifer, the station’s program director.
The funds will be used for prostate cancer research and programs run through CancerCare Manitoba.
Since its inception eight years ago, the ball has raised over $130,000 for the organization.
