The issue of a shortage of downtown grocery stores will be the focus of a forum this afternoon at Portage Place Shopping Centre.
Food Matters Manitoba is hosting a Downtown Community Food Forum in partnership with local community organizations in order to discuss key food issues. Community members, organizations, and interested individuals are invited to discuss community food priorities and the so-called “food deserts” in the city’s core.
Residents have been seeking solutions to combat the lack of grocery stores ever since several of them closed their doors in the past year.
The forum will take place in Edmonton Court from 1-4 p.m.
