The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ is undertaking an initiative to get more people to the city’s core.
Through the annual Let’s Do Lunch Downtown event, the BIZ will highlights the booming restaurant industry downtown from May 6-31.
Office workers and Winnipeggers will get a chance to try some of downtown’s top restaurants and see firsthand how restaurants are adding to a bustling and vibrant city centre.
“Business owners are investing in our restaurant industry because they understand that with more than 70,000 office workers, 16,000 residents, and over 35,000 students — there’s an undeniable market,” said Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown BIZ. “We encourage people to come downtown and to discover the many one-of-kind restaurant destinations located right here at the heart of our city.”
Participating restaurants include Hy’s Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar, La Bamba, Sydney’s, Rudy’s Eat & Drink, the Pony Corral, The Keg Steakhouse and Bar, the Current, and the Met.
Those who dine at any of the above can also be entered to win a downtown restaurant tour worth $500 by leaving a business card or asking for a ballot.
