Gord's Ski and Bike

A longtime Winnipeg retailer has shut its doors after 52 years.

Gord’s Ski and Bike announced on its Facebook page late Thursday that the company is now in receivership.

Gord’s opened its first store at 7 Donald Street in 1961 and expanded to two others, including in Banff.

“Gord’s will live on in all our hearts as not only the place where we worked but where we shared our passions and where we gathered to pay tribute to the legacy of Gord Reid,” a statement read.

Ski and cycle enthusiasts can expect a liquidation sale to be held soon.
