Local musicians, artists and entertainers will perform this weekend in The Forks’ annual Buskers Festival.
Buskers will be competing for a “Busk Pass,” allowing them to perform at the popular tourist destination. Each act will get five minutes to impress the panel of judges, including well-known Winnipeg musicians Romi Mayes, Jason Kirkness and Joanne Rodriguez.
“The weekend of the Buskers Festival always feel like the summer kick-off here at The Forks,” said Paul Jordan, chief operating officer of The Forks. “The entertainment is great, and we love the energy and vitality the buskers bring to the site year after year. The value that they bring to The Forks all year long is irreplaceable.”
The festival will take place in centre court on Friday, May 3 from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., as well as Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
