Winnipeg Square Reopened After Bomb Scare

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police have reopened Winnipeg Square after investigating a suspicious package Friday morning.

What turned out to be an abandoned golf bag ended up causing the surrounding area to be shut down at around 8 a.m.

By 10 a.m., police had reopened the 300 block of Main Street to traffic and pedestrians.

Members of the public were asked to avoid the area until further notice during the investigation, but have since been allowed to return.
