The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ and Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) have sprung the kickstand on a new partnership.
MEC will help the BIZ’s existing Downtown Watch Bike Patrol program with discounts on bikes, helmets, cycling shoes, lights, locks and free labour on tune-ups.
“Safety remains the top priority for downtown businesses,” said Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown BIZ. “The BIZ works hard to establish new programs and partnerships to respond to this need. We thank MEC for helping us launch our downtown security from patrols on two feet to two wheels.”
The Downtown Watch Bike Patrol cruises through downtown, the Forks, the Millennium Library Park and parkades and run through the summer.
