Manitobans facing cancer will soon have their own QuickCare Clinic to deal with emergencies.

“We have world-class doctors and dedicated health professionals at CancerCare to help diagnose and treat cancer, and if patients have complications or side effects from their treatment, they will now have a dedicated, specialized Cancer QuickCare Clinic with extended hours to ensure they get same-day care,” said Heath Minister Theresa Oswald.

The new clinic will be open seven days a week, including some evenings, to help patients with cancer who need help managing pain, nausea, fatigue and other issues, said Oswald.

The province will also be launching a Cancer HelpLine.

The clinic is expected to open this fall at the CancerCare Health Sciences Centre facility at 675 McDermot Ave.
