Shoppers, on your marks.

Two Target stores are set to open their doors at 8 a.m. on May 7, and they’re expecting a rush.

“If we can have a large turn out, you won’t hear us complaining at all,” said Derek Jenkins, vice-president of external relations for Target Canada.

“This is our soft opening, so it helps us to test our systems… and helps our team members to train.”

The locations at Kildonan Place Shopping Centre and Southdale shopping Centre will open, along with the location in Brandon and 20 other stores in Western Canada. The Grant Park Shopping Centre is expected to open this fall or winter.

On Monday, Target invited the media for a sneak peek of their KP location.
