Giant Condoms to Descend on Winnipeg for Animal Rights

PETAIn their latest publicity stunt, PETA announced Thursday they will have a pair of members dressed in “giant condoms” on the streets of Winnipeg Friday.

The members will also be holding signs that read “Condoms Won’t Work: Fix your Dog/Cat!” as a reminder that in order to control pet populations and prevent euthanasia, pet owners need to spay or neuter their pets.

“If cats and dogs could wear condoms, tens of thousands of animals would be spared suffering and death,” said PETA campaigner Emily Lavender. “But they can’t — so it’s up to their guardians to take responsibility for spaying and neutering them.”

The protesters will be on the corner of Portage Avenue and Edmonton Street on Friday at noon.
