A Winnipeg man has been charged with drunk driving after he smashed his car into a tree then ran away.
Winnipeg police said the man hit a tree near Devonshire Drive and Plessis Road at about 9 p.m. on Thursday. Witnesses told police that a man was then seen running away on foot.
Police called in AIR1, which tracked the man until officers on the ground caught up to him.
Rafal Wisniewski, 36, was charged with impaired driving, breach of probation and leaving the scene of an accident.
