Pride WinnipegPride Winnipeg and Half Pints Brewing Company have come out with a fruity “Queer Beer” for the 2013 Pride season.

The release of the beer marks the beginning of Pride season in Winnipeg, and has become a staple for the Pride Winnipeg Festival over the past three years.

“As soon as Queer Beer hits store shelves, people start to get excited,” said Pride Winnipeg president Jonathan Niemczak. “It’s the cue for the start of Pride season, and lets people know that the Pride Festival, and its famous Queer Beer Tent, is right around the corner.”

Queer Beer is sold in cases of six 341 ml bottles and costs $12.32. It’s available at four Manitoba Liquor Mart locations, including River and Osborne, Portage and Burnell, Hargrave and Ellice, and Grant Park.

The Pride Winnipeg festival is May 24 to June 2.
