A traffic stop Friday afternoon ended up with a 25-year-old woman facing several charges.
Winnipeg police attempted to pull a vehicle over in the 100 block of Princess Street, but the driver wouldn’t stop. Due to heavy traffic, the vehicle eventually came to a halt, but drove away and hit three vehicles as an officer approached the driver’s door. The female suspect stopped in a nearby parkade and fled on foot.
Caley Elizabeth Steele of Lac du Bonnet was eventually arrested with the help of the canine unit and has been charged with possession of a controlled drug or substance and faces several charges under the Highway Traffic Act, including three counts of failing to comply with the condition of an undertaking.
