Winnipeg police collected 107 pounds of unused medication during National Prescription Drug Drop-off Day this past Saturday.
The unwanted, expired or unused prescription drugs were dropped off by the public at numerous police stations across the city. Police say among the medications dropped off was a sizable supply of Tylenol 3 and Oxycontin.
National Prescription Drug Drop-off Day was an initiative coordinated by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police, and is being held in partnership with the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse, Public Safety Canada and law enforcement agencies across the country.
