The Canadian Red Cross in Manitoba is now accepting nominations for the prestigious Young Humanitarian of the Year Award and the Humanitarian of the Year Award.
The awards will be handed out Thursday, September 12 and recognize the spirit of humanity in Manitoba, while generating funds to further the humanitarian work of the Canadian Red Cross.
“The Red Cross is looking to honour individuals in Manitoba who exemplify community spirit, show compassion for others, and who have made a difference in their community,” said provincial Red Cross director Shawn Feely.
Nominations forms are available by e-mailing WZInfo.Manitoba@redcross.ca or calling (204) 982-7330. The deadline to nominate someone is June 25, 2013.
The awards will be given out at the Red Cross Power of Humanity Luncheon at the Fort Garry Hotel.
