Morden's Back 40 FestivalThe Corn and Apple Festival isn’t the only thing Morden is known for.

Morden’s Back 40 Festival is Sunday, June 2 and kicks off the summer festival season in the southwestern Manitoba town.

Dubbed “Manitoba’s greatest small festival,” the Back 40 will include interactive kids activities, face-painting, artisans, food and live music to the Morden Park Bowl from noon until dusk.

“We are heading in to our 25th year of planning the Back 40 and this will be our 24th annual festival,” said event chairperson Linda Hiebert.

“Once again we think we’ve put together the best line-up and this year in particular we are pleased to showcase four outstanding acts from our January songwriters workshop including Jason Friesen, Jessica Kroeker, Urban Elephant, and Heidi Wiebe.”

Other acts include Jake Chenier, Red Moon Road, JP LePage Band, The Bros. Landreth, Jenny Berkel, Emma Cloney, and Lakes & Pines.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the gate. Kids 12 and under are free. Visit Back40FolkFest.com for more details.
