An 18-year-old man died Tuesday after his vehicle plunged into a retention pond in south Winnipeg.
Emergency crews were called at around 6:30 a.m. for a submerged vehicle in the pond on Dalhousie Drive near Pembina Highway. Divers pulled the man up and performed CPR on him before he was rushed to hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Rescue efforts were swift, with a Winnipeg Fire Paramedic station located directly across the street from the pond.
