Fort Gibraltar’s historical interpretation centre is now open for guided summer tours.
Visitors can relive Manitoba’s history, tradition and culture by visiting the Fort now through September 2.
Offered in English and French, guided tours will take visitors to the blacksmith shop, the trading post, the workshop and the winterers’ cabin where they will learn more about the daily lives of the inhabitants of the Fort and the conflict between the North West Company and the Hudson Bay Company.
Doors Open Winnipeg will also be involved with Fort Gibraltar on Saturday, May 25, as more than 80 historic buildings in Winnipeg open to the public. The Fort will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. free of charge.
